Education: Dr. Chen earned his medical degree at Yanbian Medical College, Yangi, People's Republic of China in 1984. He earned his M.Sc. at China Medical University, Shengyang, People's Republic of China majoring in Infectious Diseases in 1989. Dr. Chen went on to earn his Ph.D., at Kagawa Medical University, Japan majoring in Autoimmune Liver Diseases in 1998.

Internship/Residency: Dr. Chen completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Amarillo, TX in 2009 and completed his fellowship training in Rheumatology at Oklahoma University Health Science Center in 2011.
